Rick Jacobs is the CEO of Accelerator for America, a non-profit organization that provides strategic support to the best local initiatives to strengthen people’s economic security.

Rick has held various positions throughout his professional career. He has been executive deputy mayor and deputy chief of staff to Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti and founded separately and is a board member of the Mayor’s Fund for Los Angeles. Jacobs founded and was president of the national advocacy group Courage Campaign and founded and was CEO of Newstar, Inc. He was vice president and assistant to the founder and CEO of Occidental Petroleum. He is a graduate of Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service. He was President of California for Howard Dean’s campaign for U.S. President.
