Juan Moreno Bau

As director of the Bankinter Innovation Foundation, I work closely with our Board of Trustees made up of prominent global business leaders, academics, scientists and investors to define the Foundation’s strategic vision and translate it into concrete programmes that promote innovation in Spain. My work focuses on articulating an ecosystem that connects researchers, entrepreneurs, universities, companies and investors, facilitating collaboration and the development of projects that raise the level and impact of innovation in our country.

My background combines experience as a venture capital investor – having led the Foundation’s and Bankinter’s investment programme to promote startups from different sectors and business models – with an international career in technology and telecommunications, developed in companies such as Lucent Technologies, Motorola, BT and the startup Winphoria Networks. This dual perspective allows me to identify real market opportunities and accompany entrepreneurs in the leap from technology to business.

I am a Telecommunications Engineer from the Polytechnic University of Madrid and an Executive MBA from IESE. I speak Spanish, English and French, and I am inspired to work in international environments. My motivation is simple: to bring science and technology to the market to generate real economic and social impact.
