Manos Tsakiris

Manos Tsakiris studied psychology, philosophy, and cognitive neuroscience. He is currently the Director of the Center for the Politics of Feelings at the School of Advanced Study at the University of London, where he is dedicated to an interdisciplinary understanding of emotions and politics. In addition, he is a professor of psychology and directs the Body and Action Laboratory at Royal Holloway, University of London, and a visiting professor at the Warburg Institute.

His research is interdisciplinary and he uses a wide range of methods to investigate the neurocognitive mechanisms that shape the experience of incarnation and self-identity. He received the Young Mind and Brain Award in 2014, the 22nd Award from the Society for Experimental Psychology in 2015, and the Distinguished Scientific Award from the NOMIS Foundation in 2016.

Since 2016, he leads the interdisciplinary Body & Image in Arts & Science (BIAS) project at the Warburg Institute, and since 2017 the INtheSELF ERC Consolidator project at Royal Holloway investigating the role of interception for social self-awareness.
