The sustainability talk in social media

Our FIBK experts share on their social networks about sustainability and what they are setting the public agenda and to which you should pay special attention.
Our FIBK experts share on their social media about some of the issues that are setting the public agenda and to which you should pay special attention. Sustainability has made it to the front page of the news. It is in the CSR of most companies, in youth-led social initiatives and in start-up business models that combine it with innovation to open new doors.
What are the most influential voices saying about sustainability this new year?
Resolutions for 2022
The first days of the year are a good time for many to make a list of resolutions for the coming year. Given that the sustainability agenda is becoming increasingly prominent, most likely one of your challenges for 2022 will be related to this issue.
Some of the Bankinter Foundation of Innovation experts, such as Daniel Truran, are sharing sustainability-related New Year’s resolutions. What’s more, you can join the debate and add to it with the hashtag #Compromiso2022, which invites you to share “real solutions to address climate and social emergencies“.

It is often said that every little makes a mickle, but you may wonder how you can really know the actual impact of each and every one of your individual actions. Well, Henry F. De Sio invites you to learn how to establish these metrics and parameters (or KPIs) of your personal performance as a change agent.
Keep in mind, too, that, as this other article shared by Daniel Truran highlights, “we sometimes forget a basic truth about systems: they are all made by people”, so every small gesture we make, even if it’s just me, can have a snowball effect.

A matter of employment

Speaking of KPIs, Henry F. De Sio also invites us to reflect on the most concerning sustainability issues for the Bankinter Foundation of Innovation experts: how to work towards a just society.
In fact, this is another issue that is dominating the sustainability debate in social media: work. More specifically, the submissive situations that some immigrants unfortunately suffer. In the United States, some recent events are motivating a campaign to end these abuses against people, which is also causing some experts to raise their voices against these practices.
At work, as in life, empathy is fundamental. Something that we have discussed in depth in this same space and that professionals like Truran do not hesitate to actively emphasize in social media.

El #FuturoDelTrabajo pasa por un #propósito compartido.

It should be noted that new values and talents should be trained in equal opportunities and the importance of social, economic and environmental sustainability. It is another key effort around which many organizations are working. Empowering young people is an essential pillar for achieving many SDGs.
As stated in a post by Lubomila Jordanova, shared by Fernando Casado, the unicorns of the future will be those that enable and guarantee the transition to a more sustainable economy, which includes social and environmental equity and equality. In this regard, it should be noted that a Business Observatory for Inclusive Growth has been created, defined as those that unite social responsibility and economic competitiveness in the medium and long term.
One of the sectors in which the need for joint objectives can be most easily perceived is tourism. Not only companies should be engaged with this challenge, but also, each and every one of us can take steps to ensure that visiting other places does not have a detrimental environmental, economic and social impact.
