Fernando Casado Cañeque is a doctor in economics and a journalist related to global development issues. He has worked as an advisor to various international organizations, such as the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), the United Nations Division of Social and Economic Affairs (UNDESA), the World Bank, the United Nations Organization for Industrial Development. (UNIDO), and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and as a senior consultant in the department of sustainable development and social responsibility of PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) in New York. He has produced reports for the Global Compact on the sustainability and social impact of the automotive sector in India, evaluated the CSR policy of SMEs globally, developed comparative analyzes of type II public-private partnerships presented at the Summit of Johannesburg, and collaborated on various reports for UNIDO, including the Industrialization, Environment and MDGs in Sub-Saharan Africa report. He is the author of several articles on economic development, globalization and sustainability; and producer of a documentary on access to primary education in rural areas of Honduras. He has a doctorate from the Central University of Barcelona in Economic and Social Sciences, a Master from the Columbia University of New York specialized in Development Economics and Journalism and a post-graduate degree in environmental management through the Institute of Public Economy of the University from Barcelona.
